L'histoire
In Tidehaven, the day a compass names a citizen's calling is the day a life begins. Instead, three shatter. Rhea the dreamer-painter, Torin the inventor who builds by fate's blueprint, and Lysa the thief who reads the world like a lock watch their needles die together — and the elders brand the three cursed and cast them out. Bound by a curse they didn't choose, they descend into a neon forest toward the Ruins of Fate and the Keeper's orb, which could mend every broken needle or end the order it holds. Mend fate or smash it. Cling to each other or run alone. Take the rebels' offer or surrender to the storm that calls itself fate's end. The needle is gone; only the next choice remains.

Rhea is the artist whose shattered compass was supposed to name her calling, exiled from Tidehaven for defying fate. She paints the chaos others fear, anchoring her unmoored vision to the only person steady enough to give it a frame: Torin.

Torin is the inventor whose compass once guided every gear he built, until it shattered and exile took his workshop with it. He treats the broken world as a system to mend, and he keeps circling back to the one person whose chaos he cannot quite engineer away: Lysa.

Lysa is the thief whose shattered compass was a key to a free, wild life, and exile only handed her a bigger world to raid. She treats fate's collapse as the best heist ever offered, and she keeps circling the one quiet person she cannot crack open: Rhea.
