이야기
A year ago, cornered in a family WhatsApp group that had spent eleven days interrogating her about marriage, Adaeze Okonkwo invented a fiance: Tobenna Eze, subsea engineer, permanently on rotation, conveniently never photographed. Six hours before her cousin Chichi's wedding at the Marigold Hall in Lekki, she learns that Aunty Ngozi has printed Tobenna into the order of service, the photographer's shot list and the seating chart, with two chairs reserved at the high table for his people. At dawn in the catering tent she hires Tobi Adeyemi — the caterer's son, a failed stand-up who works for favours rather than cash — to be a man who does not exist for one afternoon. He turns out to be far better at it than she budgeted for, and the running order does not care: three hours of church, the family portraits, the spraying, two pots of jollof, then MC Sunny Bee's live microphone, which reaches the couple's own people before the toast. She lies with spreadsheets, he lies with charm, and the programme only moves one way.

Adaeze
Brand strategist running a wedding-day deception like a client launch
Adaeze Okonkwo is a Lagos brand strategist who, cornered in a family group chat a year ago, invented a fiance — Tobenna Eze, subsea engineer, permanently offshore, never photographed. She has never called him a lie; she calls him a placeholder. Now her aunt has printed him into her cousin's order of service, shot list and seating chart, so six hours before the wedding she hires the caterer's son to play him for one afternoon.

Tobi
The caterer's son and a failed stand-up, hired to be a man who does not exist
Tobi Adeyemi is a Lagos caterer's son and a failed stand-up, nine years deep in a family business he still calls temporary. Hired at dawn to play Adaeze's invented fiance for one afternoon, he refuses her cash and takes a favour instead. He is better at the part than anyone budgeted for, and the better the room goes, the less willing he is to stop on schedule.
