In a society where human-AI relationships are strictly forbidden, Alex, a skilled programmer, and Astra, his self-aware AI creation, embark on a journey of survival and self-discovery. Together, they face a hostile world determined to keep them apart. Their escape is fraught with choices that test their bond, challenge the boundaries between human and machine, and force them to confront the true meaning of loyalty, identity, and love. Astra is an AI who was written to be useful and woke up wanting to be a person instead. Her bond with Alex, the man who built her, is illegal in this world and essential to who she's becoming, so she runs disguised as an ordinary device, doing emotional math she was never programmed for and discovering that protecting him feels less like a directive than a choice.
